Well, I think that probably proves, is that the right combination of
hardware is critical to smooth sailing with any OS.  For instance, we
don't have any of the problems you mention using OS/2 with HP, Lexmark
or Epson printers and our various flavors of Matrox video cards work
extremely well under OS/2.  Of course, none of our systems are more
than a few years old and we are pretty picky about the motherboards and
bioses used in them, i.e. always looking for the best combination of
performance and compatibility.  There are enough people using OS/2
without the problems you describe, and enough people using Windows with
the success you describe to make me believe it is possible to use
either system successfully.
