Pmmail has gotten too slow to use!

Anyone have a fix for the super slow down in PMmail? As more
and more mail is accumulated in folders, to arrow key down to
the next email may take 10 seconds. With 30 new emails, this
is way to much wasted time. I can no longer live with the slow
speed.

And I am using a Pii-400 mhz machine! My other employees have
Pentium 120-166's - and I'm just waiting for them to tell me I
must change the email program....

I sure could use some help if someone knows how to speed things
up.

I've heard some folks say they zip the older mail up, and this
helps. But to do so by hand would take a day here on my
machine alone! I have approx. 60 folders and subfolders.

Saying to turn off the preview pane is not acceptable solution;
after one becomes used to the preview pane here and in win98,
one cannot go back to mail without it. Besides, that just puts
off the time delay until you actually open a mail; the delay
is still there. I asked Bob about this way back when ver 2.0
came out, and he seemed to not be able to duplicate it. We
have 7 machines here, and they all exhibit this, so it is not a
signle machine problem.

Any helpful ideas would be appreciated.
