 well, we're already approaching sort of a "consensus" <g>: the alleged
compatibility break is only happening if you introduce additional
options (which I never asked for in first place) to have the user
choose between the "old" and the proposed "new" mode. Actually, even
this would not happen if you allow only for a choice and remain at a
single algorithm to choose from (albeit it would mean more work - yet
there is already a (useless) button *exactly* of that kind <eg>). So
the converse should also be correct - you *can* do it easily if you
dismiss the sorting on priority etc.

 I think it all boils down to differentiate between (i) the technical
feasibility of a solution - given a decent amount of effort - and (ii)
the marketing aspect (in its widest sense) that something is just (not)
of interest.

 These two sides are being contiunously intermixed, which I think is
not helpful. Maybe Mr. Lamb will realize this sooner or later.
