OK, for the past week you've all probably noticed a lack of mail from the
list. This is because of 2 small problems that compounded one another.

The first is that InterNIC is run by a bunch of complete and total
idiots. For the past 2.5 months I've been trying to get my DNS switched over
from my static IP from Sacramento to the IP have with my provider down here
in Pasadena. Each time I submit a request it claims to go through and then
does not. Only over this last week does anyone tell me why the request that
I am sending in, which any reasonable person would think would work, doesn't
and tell me the proper request to send it.

The second was that the individual who graciously allows me to use him as
a secondary DNS and MX changed his DNS in anticipation of a physical move of
his machine. However, after he submitted the request he realized he didn't
have time to move the machine. So now DNS requests were going to my old IP,
which I no longer answer, and his new IP, which he did not yet answer.

The end result is that *no* mail could reach my machine in a reliable
fashion and that most mail from my machine would be rejected because my
domain name could not be resolved for security purposes.

Sometime around 1am today my friend's machine started answering on his
new IP. Because of this, mail started flowing again. Also, before the end
of next week I hope to have my DNS issues with InterNIC resolved so I won't
be in such a fragile position again.

My apologies for the inconvenience, but with his machine back, my server
can now resume its normal duties, including those of the mailing list.

As the Wayne and Garth might say, "Mail on!"
