Bugs & Feature Status in Updates?

Hello,

In early September, the members of this mailing list assembled a 
collection of bugs fixes feature additions they wanted to see 
included in the PMMail/2 and PMMail 98 updates.  Now that the updates 
are here, it will be interesting to see which of these items have 
been taken care of in the updates and which ones still remain and 
then report those findings to the new home of PMMail, BSW (Blueprint 
Software Works).

Each bug and feature is numbered for easy reference.  Please refer to 
those numbers when reporting back to this list about their status in 
order to keep things straight.  Also, remember to indicate whether or 
not your comments refer to PMMail/2, PMMail 2000 or both.  Please 
only include comments concerning the latest 2.1 versions.

Bugs Reported in Version 2.0x

BUG 01:
Stalled POP Retrievals - POP retrievals sometimes stall and when they 
do, PMMail should recognize the situation and cause a new Fetch cycle 
to run.

BUG 02:
Find in Folders Failure - The Find function for searching folders in 
PMMail/2 doesn't properly and completely search subfolders.

BUG 03:
Timed Fetch Failure - Sometimes PMMail stops fetching the mail at the 
prescribed timed intervals for no apparent reason.

BUG 04:
'Not Found' Message Missing - When using the FIND function in the 
message read window, 'Not Found' conditions not reported in PMMail/2 
as they are in PMMail98

BUG 05:
Black Boxes - PMMail/2 sometimes prints black boxes at end of printed 
lines

BUG 06:
Spell Checker - Certain words such as the plural of the words "yoyo" 
and "yo-yo" cause PMMail/2 to hang when they are spell checked.

BUG 07:
HTML Accented Characters - The HTML editor in PMMail 98 does not 
properly recognize international characters: if you write an accented 
character in HTML mode, it joins the word with the accented vocal and 
the next word

BUG 08:
Accented Folder Names - A folder created with an accented character 
in PMMail/2 does not display properly under under PMMail 98

BUG 09:
Message Editor - The built-in message editor truncates messages 
larger than 64K without warning when those messages were imported 
from an external editor or file

Feature Requests from Version 2.0x

F01: 
Allow the selection of printer fonts independent of the display fonts.

F02: 
Provide a 'Monospaced/Proportional' button/keystroke to allow a quick 
switch between displaying mail with a monospaced or proportional font.

F03:
Allow the creation or assignment of Signatures by folder instead of 
accounts.

F04: 
Provide a 'Fetch All Accounts' function for PMMail 98 as in PMMail/2.

F05: 
Provide ability to apply individual manual Filters for PMMail 98 as 
in PMMail/2.

F06: 
Break button to force a 'Fetch' or Send process to terminate.

F07: 
Add a 'Find' function to the Edit Message Window.

F08:
Add 'Find' and 'Find_Again' buttons to the Message Read and Edit 
windows.

F09: 
Improved spell checker with more relevant suggested replacements for 
misspelled words.

F10: 
Provide the ability for filters to move messages between accounts.

F11: 
Automatic HTML viewing of messages in PMMail/2 as is currently done 
in PMMail 98

F12: 
Provide spelling dictionaries for other languages.

F13: 
Integration of PMMail/2 with Netscape so that it can be used as the 
default mailer for Netscape.

F14: 
Allow the drag and drop of subfolders to other folders.

F15: 
Enable renaming of folders by using the Alt+LMB combo like the OS/2 
WPS.

F16: 
Provide for preconfigured Message Send and Receive Exit Scripts (one 
for IBM Dialer, DOIP, Injoy, etc.)

F17:
Addition of 'Mark all new messages as being read' to pop-up menu when 
PMMail is minimized.

F18:
Add CUT, COPY and PASTE functions to RMB pop-up in editing window.

F19:
Allow the printing out of text that has been blocked or the printing 
of a particular page instead of the entire document.

F20:
Provide the ability to block and reflow-to-the-margins text within 
the Message Editing window.

F21:
Provide the ability to apply Filters under Remote Control (retrieve 
and sort in folders, bounce messages, delete spam, etc.without 
actually downloading it)

F22:
More effective threading to eliminate PMMail's hogging of the message 
input and queue especially on slower systems.

F23:
Provide the ability to purge attachments while retaining messages, 
and new list view symbol to indicate that a message's attachment(s) 
have been deleted.

F24:
Allow a wider range of times for the "Check for new mail every ___ 
seconds" setting so that users can choose to auto-retrieve from an 
account once every few hours or even days.  The current maximum 
interval of 3600 seconds (1 hour) is too short.

F25:
Increase the size of messages which can be edited in the Message 
Editor window to greater than 64k.

F26:
Provide clickable column headers in PMMail/2 to sort contents of 
folders (like in PMMail 98).

F27:
Add the capability for SMTP authentication.

F28:
Provide additional command line options such as including the ability 
to start up to check/send mail from specified accounts) before 
closing down again.


F30:
Provide an option to allow an empty New Message window to be closed 
without triggering the "Are you sure..." pop-up.

F31:
Allow multiple attachments to a message to be selected and acted upon 
as a group.

F32:
