OS/2 is dead (again, as usual)

Steve, the (3rd hand?) "IBM Spokeman" directly contradicts the IBM 
announcement.  I can't find the URL at the moment, but
it said theat the "OS/2 convenience packs" announced the previous
month would continue, these are "pay-for" or subscription updates with 
the latest versions (of Java, networking, browser etc) and fixes.

BTW: It's not news that IBM want us to move off OS/2, it hasn't
been for a few years - the way they want us to move is to Java(!).

When linux has a usable kernel thread architecture (instead of 
almost the full weight of a process for each thread), it'll be
able to run Java programs respectably, and we'll be able to move 
to Linux if we so choose ;-)
