    Ironically enough there /IS/ a standard for expression URLs in plain text
to make it simple for a program to parse and maintain that URL to launch other
applications as needed.  In case anyone wonders why I always put <>'s around
my URLs, that is why.  I don't recall the RFC that it is in but I'm sure if I
dig through The Bat! UDL's archives I'd find it since it was discussed there
not too long ago.
