Why this phobia to HTML mail?

However, there were email standards codified in RFCs before all of the
Micros~1 crap appeared. MS simply think that weight of numbers is all
that's needed to run roughshod over these RFCs. If everyone in the US
suddenly decided to drive on the left (the sensible way as certain of
us might say) there would be chaos. Email is just the same.
