    Well, if I were a C wizard (which I'm not, which is why AIMS is in Python
and starting from scratch) I'd take mutt as a base.  The client itself is
solid as a rock and the functionality is there, just some of the nicer things
(to me and others on this list) are missing.

    Unless you program to a toolkit which is also ported.  TK comes to mind.
