Paul,

Thanks for the data you collected, but it seems very different than
what I experience.  I don't know if it matters, but I don't load any
Office components when I boot (or as few as I can).  When Office 
loads, I can see the memory decreasing far more than 4MB.  30MB?  40?

I have roughly 600MB in archive and other .PST files, so maybe that 
has something to do with it.

Our office email was just swamped the otherday with one "Goner" virus 
infection: thank goodness they run "Antigen" on our mail so that it 
didn't propigate.  As it was, everyone got at least 8 emails, 
depending on how many mailing lists you were on.  As a result, the IT 
people are looking at ways to stop our access to "webmail", where the 
poor infected one got the virus.  I don't want to broach using POP to 
access Exchange.  The power-mad IT chiefs would not look kindly on 
such a thing. :(
