If you like.  Address books can (individually) be global or
account-specific.  Default signatures (personas, actually, which have
other attributes attached) can be attached to accounts, folders or
recipients, each overriding the former.

The PMMail team should look hard at Polarbar
(http://www.polarbar.org) to see what needs to be done to remain
competitive in many areas.  It has many things (IMAP, account address
books, etc) that PMMail needs, and being Java is already
cross-platform.  It is the slickest Java app I know (out of not
many), and although still rough round the edges it is being developed
fast and effectively by a team of volunteers, who are responsive to
requests on the very active mailing list.  Worse (for PMMail) - it
is, and will remain, free.

With a major new version of Pegasus (Windows only, but free and
highly regarded) on the point of release, PMMail needs to have some
clear advantages to justify it, rather than just being nice to use
