I can't answer that. If PMMail will pass the highlighted text to your
editor now then my suggestion wouldn't be a problem. If PMMail doesn't, it
needs to be fixed. Also effecting this is your text editor command line
options. I have no special needs requiring an external editor. For some it
is preference rather than functionality. This is why an external editor
option is provided with PMMail.

I rarely run any apps in full-screen. I don't need and certainly don't
want to be forced into using a full-screen text editor. For me, email is
simple text manipulation and drafting. The internal editor serves that
purpose. If more complex functions are required, I use an external app and
send the file as an attachment. I haven't used TSE and I don't know what
it has to offer over the existing internal editor.
