A week or so ago I posted a bug report here about timestamps ending
in "GMT" being incorrectly handled in recent betas (no time zone
correction is done). I never saw any response to that.

here's what I wrote:
Betas 2577 through 2581 seem to be having problems with messages for which
the SMTP server has set the time header in the style 
Date: Tue, 6 Aug 2002 23:29:09 GMT
They end up listed in my inbox as though they timestamp was for my local timezone
(+1200) putting them well below messages with timestamps of the style
Date: Tue, 6 Aug 2002 23:29:09 +0000
(both of which are legitimate).

This didn't happen on pre-beta releases.
