PMMail doesn't do statistical filtering. It classifies a message based
on all of the information in the message (not just a few words), and
can learn and change over time. It then inserts a specific header line
into the message which is what PMMail filters on to put it into the
appropriate folder (or whatever).

Without PMMail, how would you filter personal mail and work mail when
they might both be coming from the same senders?
