If it is text/plain PMMail doesn't render it...

And how is it supposed to know what to do? It isn't PMMail that's
broken in this case.....

Indeed, but there you are, we may get one if we're lucky in the Windows
version, OS/2 is anyone's guess. I run a filter that looks for
content-type: */html in the body and rejects the mail if there is one.
This is not in PMMail however, I do that in my MTA so that mail of that
type is bounced with a message to the effect that I don't accept any
html mail.
