Sorry, but it is YOU who are 'obsolete' in your view of the world! Or,
maybe you just have your head in the sand.

Since you are not using OS/2 [a.k.a., WARP or eComStation], you are
obviously very far out of the loop. May be while YOU are getting YOUR
haircut, YOU should do some reading and research. Just a FEW points
that appear to have passed you by:

* The current level of OS/2 is 4.53. [Or, if you prefer, it is 4.5
with FixPack 3 added.] FP3 was just shipped a few months ago. In
addition, kernel updates are also available for further enhancements.
eCS 1.1 just went GA in the last month.

* IBM has committed support for OS/2:
Warp Home Page [How to buy from IBM, etc., but also includes
the following bullet point: "* Backed by IBM Support"]
     http://www-3.ibm.com/software/os/warp/
Another reference includes: "IBM plans to provide Program
defect support for OS/2 Warp 4 Convenience Packages and
for Warp Server for e-business Convenience Packages for
     customers with software subscriptions through
     31 December 2004."
    Yet another IBM statement:
"OS/2 will still be available through IBM's licensing program,
and the IBM spokesman said the company plans to support the
OS/2 OS "indefinitely." For more comments, I refer you to:

       http://marketwatch-cnet.com.com/2100-1001-977087.html
* If you [generic, I know YOU would not be] are looking for
  device support:
   Device Driver Catalog
    http://www7.software.ibm.com/2bcprod.nsf/WebCat?OpenView

* A couple of references of applications and tools for OS/2
[Just to dispell the rumor that there are no products and/or
  support for the platform...]
  General Applications, etc.
     http://en.ecomstation.ru/apecs.php
     http://207.109.185.122/night28/dir17.htm
  Java Applications
     http://home.hccnet.nl/rjj.troost/japp4os2.htm

* eComStation Information
   Serenity Systems International
  Ref: http://www.serenity-systems.com
They are the company that has the agreement with IBM to enhance and
extend OS/2. The resulting product, eComStation, is marketed by
  several companies, including, among others:
  - Prism Data Works in the USA
  - Finnegan Software in Canada
  - mensys in Europe
  Ref: http://www.serenity-systems.com/ecs/ecs-buy.html

So, Robert, I suggest YOU just go back in your hole until you catch up
with the rest of the world that does not like to deal with a convicted
monopolist, who like to have a system that stays up and is not the
world's magnet for every virus and hacker on the Internet.
