[pmmail-list] Spell Check

Hi Craig,

I agree that E-Trust rocks and I can offer two solutions to the problem
- one of which I use myself and the other that I haven't tried. First,
this problem showed up with the newest version 6.1 of the software but
there was no problem with the 6.0 version. My company has stuck with
version 6.0 instead of upgrading in order to avoid the problem. Both
versions use the same virus definition files and perform the same types
of analyses. You license is good for either version and if you like, I
can send you the 6.0 setup file if it is not available on E-Trust.

Version 6.1 is almost identical to 6.0 but it has a very, very
dumbed-down user interface. One of the things missing in the 6.1
interface (that is available in 6.0) is an easy way to exclude specific
files, directories and processes from monitoring as a workaround for
conflicts such as the one with the PMMail spellchecker. I complained
to E-Trust about this and they sent me instructions for adding entries
to the system Registry to perform this funciton. I never tried the
workaround because I decided it was easier to backdate to 6.0 and avoid
the problem altogether. I would be, happy, however, to send you a copy
of the Registry modification instructions I received if you would like
to give them a try.
