[pmmail-list] How to open attachments

I frequently get messages with a nearly blank body
that contain an attachment named "Unnamed attachment 1.att.

Are these MIME messages?

Quikview.exe is listed by path in pmmailw.ini but says it cannot open the attachments.
I have been saving the attachments, renaming and viewing with a list program.

Is there an easier way to open these attachments?
Is there a way to change the default name to something easier like "1.att"?
Is there a way to change the default viewer from quikview.exe to something else?
