Hi, Carl, you indicated that you're using os2, but the only option I
can find, and this is in windows is on the email page, once you press
the space bar on the options button, just uncheck the check box that
says scan outgoing email, and then it should work. Hope this helps,
though your question seems more for advanced users. I don't know why
Norton has you scanning outgoing email, since virus's come from the
outside in, not the inside out, assuming, you're not infected already.
Also, if you're using Norton 2004, you might want to re-enter your pass
word for the pop server, just a theory, because I just installed the
beast a couple of weeks ago, and have done everything short of pounding
this machine, and I would still get error check error log messages, and
even uninstalled my firewall, thinking it was the culprit, but if my
theory works out, I think that initially, Norton doesn't know your pass
word, and by re-entering it in that field, you're telling Norton this
is what your pass word is, but this is only a theory, and I don't know
why this would make any diference, I'll keep monitoring, and see if I
get any more error messages, but this would be frustrating, since it
would be fetching mail fine for 5 minutes or so, and then bam, error
check error log for as long as 10 minutes, or 5 attempts to check mail,
and sometimes, it would only do it once, but I find no option for
configuring Norton not to do this.
