[pmmail-list] How to change null subject in received msg?

I would like to change some messages that have a null subject to something meaningful
but am not having much luck.

So far I have edited the .msg file, folder.bag and re-indexed the folder.
If I open the email the new subject appears but not in the preview pane where I need it.

Bouncing the message works fine if it was my sent message in the first place
but if it was received from someone else then the sender has changed.

Is there anything else I can do?
