There is no doubt in my mind that an IMAP4 server/protocol is superior
to the POP3 server/protocol. But this discussion is NOT about the
benefits of IMAP4 vs. POP3. Please don't try to change the subject, we
are discussing ways to make the POP3 downloads work better. I don't
really see IMAP4 replacing POP3 for most people in the near future, it
forces the ISP to store messages on their servers (we all know how
often people clean out their mailboxes).
Let's also try to keep this from becoming a flame war. Despite each of
our likes and dislikes, let's talk about the subject
Re. the subject, it is not a "nice and easy way around" if the ISP or
company servers don't support IMAP4.
