It is possible, and something I consdered, but I'm not sure if I want to
do that. Each person who signs up gets a welcome letter which clearly
explains how to send messages, subscribe, unsubscribe, set the two digests
and
how to get more help from the list server itself. I also asks the person to
save the message for later reference.
On the lists that I'm on where the footer is turned on people still ask
how to unsubscribe. It is my opinion that people who don't read, and save,
the welcome letter are also unlikely to read the footer and will either
blindly send unsubscribe to the list (which listar, most times, catches and
throws into the moderation queue) or will ask the list.
I might consider a monthly FAQ/Tips mailing. Listar has some nice
features that most people wouldn't know about unless they took a moment to
investigate it.
