Pmmail has gotten too slow to use!

    No.  Mainly because there isn't one.

    I go through 1-300 messages a day on my main account, 50-100 on my work
account, and keep rather large archives.  I see no appreciable slowdowns
anywhere.  Both my home and work machines are K6-200s with 64-128Mb RAM.

    This means nothing.  CPU speed, for most applications, over a P5-133 are
overpowered.  High CPU speeds are only needed for the bloated Microsoft crap
(and those who aspire to it), graphics work and games.

    Sure one can, it is simple, turn it off.  I turned it on, hated it,
turned
if off and was instantly back to mail without it.
