PMMail 98 performs illegal operation

PMMail started to act strangely yesterday. When closing the application I get
this error message. And the window with the message does not close even when
pressing the Close button a 100 times. Only way is to shutdown the machine,
and that does not complete properly, only with power off; so next startup is
with ScanDisk running. I did install two company internal applications, so
maybe they caused this strange behaviour. Except for this error when closing
PMMail 98, everything is working fine.
