The point is that "something better" is subjective. You may like it,
but others will not. That then only serves you and maybe a few others
that happen to like it. I don't see that as acceptable either, I want
it left alone until it can be fixed properly. That will happen in time.
Steve is right that to make this change optional will require there to
be another option stored somewhere. The program can't magically guess
your preference every time it starts up!
