SMTP Not Working

I used IBM sendmail on a LAN at work (Lockheed - big place) for quite a
while, because I didn't want to have to change to Microsoft Exchange.

It worked just fine, but that had the machine on the network all the
time.  How it might work with dial up, I couldn't say.

I've been gone for a while, but I seem to recall I set the smtp server
to the host name of the machine.  I can try to find out more (the
machine may still be there.) if that would be useful.
