double sends?

Steve, I doubt that your double sends have anything to do with the trash
folder but you could try selecting 'Perform True Deletes' and see if it
effects the problem. I'm using the same version and double sends do not
occur on my system. In fact, none of your recently reported problems occur
here. Do double sends occur other than to the mailing list?
