Fixpaks are still available for free, but if you want the new
function, with the fix paks already installed, then you pay.

Absolutely - those are IBMs biggest and most important OS/2 customers,
and it's support is geared towards them. Hmm, hard to see the logic
there!
IBMers contribute to OS/2 newsgroups, and many device drivers (including
some with sources), fixes, tools and some development tools etc are
available for download for free (some of the better dev tools can only
be got via payments, but if join the SDP (free), they're available at a
reduced rate.
Not ideal, but not bad for a "dead OS", that IBM "wants to kill", and
that's probably never made a profit. what d'you want blood ;-) ?
