Ironically, IBM added what is in some ways a better solution with the ability
JFS/LVM to add space to existing partitions. This allows you to divide things
up based on which things should not interfere with others but avoids limiting
the maximum partition size to the largest single physical device.
(Of course, it's not as if they've shown much interest in promoting it.
Wouldn't it be nice if "Using OS/2 in spite of IBM's best efforts" was *funny
