VirusScanNT causing max CPU & very slow email download

Interesting - to me that implies one of 3 possibilities:

1. McAfee's exclusion doesn't work (unlikely!).
2. PMMail is (initially) creating the article files elsewhere 
   (like a tmp directory?), and they are still getting scanned.
   (Possible)
3. User error (who knows)!?
