Skipping read messages setting in PMMail 2000

I note that the latest release of PMMail 2000 still does not allow me
to skip read messages as PMMail/2 has allowed me to do for the last 15
months or so.

Is there a plan to get the code base for the two versions as nearly
aligned as possible? I really would expect the features to be identical
unless affected by underlying OS services.
