Gee!  I wonder if it could be related to that operating system [?] you
are running...  My OS/2 spell checker runs at a quite acceptable speed.

That said, it would sure be nice if the S.C. were a lot better at the
job it is supposed to do.  i.e., Recognizing that parts of hyphenated
words are really spelled correctly.  Or, accepting that initials or
single letters [Ref:  The 'S.C.' above] should not be checked.   Or,
coming up with reasonable alternatives when it does not recognize a
word...   BUT, it is fast!
