[pmmail-list] Thin Exchange Watchdog?

This is off-topic for this list, but since the readership is so 
knowledgeable, I'll give it a try.

We as an office have moved to MS Exchange, using Outlook 2000 as our 
office mail client.  Does someone know of a "thin" Windoze watchdog 
client that will look to see if I have mail and popup a dialog?  I don't 
like running Outlook 2000 while I do work, since it is bloated as is 
typical for MS apps.

Any pointers appreciated.
