  What comes to my mind is a software call "ForKeeps". This stores
all messages (of the most diverse formats, including Compuserve
messages...) in one database. 

   I had downloaded it several times, but I not yet installed, so
that I can't report any experiences. I also think it only works on
Windows, I am afraid. 

   But any full text database would do. I could build one for you,
but only working on Win32...
