You miss the point.  He could just as well have said that he was
using PMMail on another machine, and wished to look at the messages
using remote control and to be able to select those to download by
looking at the list of subjects in the remote control window.  

That shows that having the list name in the subject rather than
relying on the post-download filtering using other headers /can/ be a
real convenience.  As any annoyance caused is "minor", perhaps you
could tolerate it?
