A couple of comments here:

Address gathering bots do not honour ROBOTS.TXT

A good archiving filter does s/@/ at / to the entire text. i.e. change
all @ signs to space at space.

The whole thing becomes less of an issue if the page is not linked
anywhere which means the URL posted on any webpage needs to be of the
form:
"Go to http://www.bawue.de/pipermail and then go to the pmmail
directory."

That is about as good as it gets. Humans can handle these things (well
some can...) whilst bots don't because the humans that write them can
get plenty of fodder without trying harder.
