Are you by any chance running SpamDetective or SpamCop, or any spam reporting software? Just had a thought that a service like this may be sending a report to this address and using your address as the return, hence you get the message back from the mailer daemon. PMMail does not support the 
Disposition-Notification-To: line of incoming mails and does not send auto-replies, unless it is set up as a filter.
