Just an update on the progress with the next build.
I think I said it might be out by Friday, but I am a little unsure at
this point. I just spoke with Peter and actually brought him another
bug with a specific attachment type(HotFax VoiceMail attachment). He
has been coding away all day and said he has found "lots of things to
fix". He didn't give specifics and I didn't pester him too much about
it today because he does his best work without interruptions. I
_assume_ that these are internal coding issues and there will not be
any noticable change to the user, except a little more stability and
reliability.
Depending on when I receive a build from him, I will post it here, but
not quite as quickly. I am going to allow myself at least 3 solid hours
and install the beta on at least two machines before I release it. Just
a few minimums I set up for myself to help ensure that you folks aren't
dealing with any blatant or debilitating bugs. This will not guarantee
bug free or stable software by any means, but I think it will help
avoid any major disasters.
I also mentioned that I was going to set up the FTP site with these
betas, and I have gotten that done. I will start putting them there as
soon as I get them for the adventurous. As mentioned before, any
download file not listed on the website should be approached with
caution, final warning! Notice the folder name is betas... I will leave
the downloads on HTTP as well, they will just be available on FTP
first, let me know if you have trouble accessing FTP, or prefer HTTP.
ftp://ftp.blueprintsoftwareworks.com/pub/pmmail/betas
Filenames will remain the same, IOW, if beta 2202582 is released, the
download link WOU
be:
ftp://ftp.blueprintsoftwareworks.com/pub/pmmail/betas/PMMail2kPro2202582
.exe
Substitute Std & Pro where necessary, and no that isn't available yet,
just an example.
I have also been working to condense and organize the list of feature
requests so that I can make it available to everyone. Right now it is
just too much to post, you all have been very helpful with your ideas,
I hope that we can make lots of them work in the new version. Give me a
little more time to go through these and combine similar, etc etc.
Thank you,
