Linux. He has made it clear that the two current versions do not
share source, and both need rewriting completely, so this is the only
sensible way to do it. His experience of making a single source for
Windows and OS/2 versions (Linux being worked on, too) of a program
(PMView) gives one hope that this is realistic.

Interesting how "rewriting the Windows version of PMMail only, and that he
hopes (no
promises) to be able to port the new source back to OS/2 and also
Linux" is being interpretated as they WILL be rewritten.
Perhaps you guys really know something that even Trevor seems not capable of
giving a definite answer. Or are you guys just trying to paint a rosey picture?

Seriously, pop over to PMMail2000.com. Take a look at the website if you have
the time (I do, and I did).
"01/24/02- A new beta that features ESMTP support and major rewrites of the
code to C++ is now available. HTML support has been delayed due to a major bug
in the engine that we plan to use. Updates regarding the progress of it are
forthcoming.
11/22/01 - We will begin a private beta of the new HTML version of PMMail
shortly. At this time we are still working with the inline image support and
HTML composition. New features already added to this version are message export
(as DOC, RTF, etc.), improved printing options, and corrections to a variety of
editing related issues"
Would anyone know that those SPECIFICALLY refers ONLY to the Windows version?
"5/25/01 - The development history for PMMail 2000 has been reorganized and
updated. The PMMail for OS/2 history is currently being updated. The history is
available at the following link."
And what do you see there? Does anyone of them actually refer to the OS/2
version?
And if you do venture to their Forums,
"Suggestion Box
We welcome all suggestions and discuss your ideas during each phase of
development. This section is taken very serious by Blueprint Software Works,
Inc. If you have an idea or suggestion, please take a moment and share your
thoughts with us."
Well, if you looked, you will probably noticed that I last asked when
information for OS/2 will be updated/provided, and Jim last replied with
"I will se about getting it up. That would had been put to the side by me
(jimmy) and Hadn't been completed.
Peter is here now in the US (along with his development machines) and has been
working for a couple of weeks now.
Thanks,
jimmy"
and that was in Oct 2001. Two more appearance from him, once announcing HTML re-
write and another to CLARIFY that it's a Windows only thing. In a THREAD that
specifically asked for INFORMATION on OS/2.
It seems Trevor knew enough to stay away from the Forums so he doesn't have to
respond to "planned features/fixes" and instead just stick around here
providing "peer level" tech support.
