I don't think you problem is list size if only 100 or so names. I have
never seen that error so I think it is another problem.
It seems you start "blowing bcc buffers" after about 300 names with big
text. I use to have 3000+ subscribers on libchrist.com mailing list before
the website and sent huge newsletters. But had to break down into less
than 300 addresses per group.
Currently I have close to 700 subscribers to a sexwork.com Phoenix private
e-mail list broken down into 2 books.. but the larger one is about 350 and
having problem with a few folks not getting so have to break it down in
smaller books and am using PMMAIL as a server (but still sends bcc so hits
the limit). It is a very long report list each week but no bcc problems
if keep below about 300 names sent at a time.
What is frustrating is I never get any error, no bounce but somewhere
around 350 names at a time, some just vanish but only a few are never
received. I do not THINK it is a PMMail problem, but seems to be a bcc
buffer limit on servers (I send via cox cable but had same problem sending
via other ISPs in the past). This issue has been a mystery to me for many
many years of large mailing lists.
