Sorry - I forgot to mention that I use OS/2 (PMMail V. 2.20.2300). For some
reason, this version limits the interval to 3600 seconds.

Maybe in a future release ...? Latest OS/2 version is about 2.20.2380 or so

But in the meantime I got a program which can trigger a running PMMail to
fetch mail - 
works fine!
