Hi,
I am a new user to PMMail2000 after years of using Calypso. I gave this=
email application a try and
while very nice, I found some issues with the filter scheme. For me,=
filtering has become a very important
feature given today's amount of email I get (wanted and unwanted). I would=
like to know if there are plans
to improve the filters as follows:
1. Adding a message to the filters option when right clicking on
a message. This would open the filter configuration window and let=
the
user pick from "sender", "recipient", "CC", "BCC", etc. PMMail2000
gets the appropriate info from the email in question.
During my trial run, I noticed that once the filter config. window=
is open,
I am unable to get to the email from which I want to get the=
filtering information.
2. Allow for a browse window in the filter configuration window so
the user can find the appropriate folder (if it is not in the=
default directory)
or to create a new one. I was unable to create the folder I=
needed, so
I had to close the window, create one and start the filtering=
process again.
3. Have an option to use colors to highlight filtered email. Youhave=
an option
to use sound, but if one doesn't hear it, then it is missed.
4. There are 2 places to enter filters. One under "Account" and one=
under
"Tools". It would be nicer to have all of them under "Tools" and=
the
same window. Allow the user to move the windows to select what=
they
need to filter.
5. Allow the user to enter password at the time of checking email.=
Reason is
that the pc could be multiuser. Don't want other checking email by=
mistake
since password is already in. A "forget password" is also useful=
for users
sharing the PC at home.
6. Have an option for the user to have a log window (scrollable and=
displays 1-2 lines).
Double clicking on it opens a full window.
7. In filters, allow users to move drag and drop them in order to change=
their
priorities. This is very handy if there are many filters like my=
colleagues and I have.
For example, I have on the order of 40 or 50.
How do other users here feel about the filters available? While not=
perfect, Calypso
provided a pretty decent functionality there. Given that this app is no=
longer being
developed, I think that maybe some other app can improve base on it.
Thanks
Felix
