Thanks Carl and James for the clues. Just the right amount of advice to
point me in the right direction.

For general information in the list, this is correct - PMMail accepts the
*printer* default font, rather than the *system* default font.
I checked in the Printer Driver, found something called "Global Text" and
selected another called "S2 TMS ROMAN" which looked OK.
Printing is now fine!

I have Warp Sans 9pt selected (system default) and dragged it in again to
make sure.
Thus I could establish that PMMail uses printer defauylts not system
defaults.

Yes - if one can afford the time or it is absolutely essential, an ounce of
experimentation is worth a ton of fretting and fuming <g>

Can't say - only had it a few days, so I am "transitioning" from the
features of the HP. It "feels" more like a photocopier than a printer.
Main difference so far is in paper feed locations - the HP top load was
very handy. It carried clean paper but I could easily throw in a scrap
sheet for a q&d print, and the second feed or bypass was always set up for
envelopes. The K is a bottom tray feed for the main supply (250 sheets), so
the bypass does double duty as scrap plus manual double sided and
envelopes.

Yes, I made sure I looked at that before committing to buy it. However, in
the end I didn't need to select a PS object, see above.

Ah, there's a useful reminder. One of the selling points of GUI is to have
the same fonts for display and printing, right? <g> So I knew not to look
for Warp Sans in the printer fonts, and I was looking for some substitution
process as Carl hinted.
Thanks again for the help, guys!
