[pmmail-list] Grayed-Out Spell Check Function

Can anyone give any more details about this? I have yet to see this
problem while upgrading or testing new installs. What do you mean by
'greyed-out'? 

I know the spell checker is, well, outdated; but there were no changes
to the code during the recent updates and I have seen no changes in
it's behaviour here.
