This reminds me of an incident years ago when I worked on IBM
mainframes as a systems programmer.

It was at an IBM user group meeting and we had a speaker from one of
the IBM development labs. Now as it happened, we had been having an
ongoing "discussion" about some (IBM) product that did the same
thing, but differently, on VM & MVS. Each side claiming it was the
"only right & holy way" to do it :-)

So we asked the guy from the labs, who replied.

"Being from IBM I can't possibly comment. Just to say that there are
MVS bigots and there are VM bigots - and the MVS bigots are right."
