Ben Ohau conservation land

In August 2003, Ben Ohau Station completed the process of tenure review. As
a result, some of the land that used to be part of this station is now
administered by the Department of Conservation. This new public conservation
land can be accessed for recreation.

with a new bridge and boardwalks.
Tuatara, giant weta and geckos "island-hop" in Marlborough Sounds

Seventy-seven tuatara, 44 giant weta and 44 green geckos were today being
moved to Whakaterepapanui Island in the Marlborough Sounds starting off the
restoration of native wildlife to the island.
