Hello Carl,
In reply to your e-mail on Sun, 26 Oct 2003.
The experts here should correct me, as I am not one, but I wonder if it
is your headers
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
whereas I was told many years ago that we should use
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
for greatest compatibility with the myriad of clients & servers out
there.
Your topic brings up the problem that I have with accented characters,
which appear very often in various newsletters here in Canada and are
not displayed correctly by PMMail/2. Would my case be resolved by
switching to
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
or is it better to use the following?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
Ciao,
Kenn

Just FWIW, I received my copy of the posting [see below] with all of
the characters as I typed them. This makes me suspect it is the
sender
of some mail that is creating the problem. But, how do I know what
they are doing so I might suggest that they are causing problems?
Thanks,
Carl
