Yes yes. When in "Account >> settings" (OS/2) or "Account >>
Preferences" (Win) you select the page "Receive", then you can select
the option "SMTP" (at the bottom) instead of "POP3" (above) and indicate
a directory (folder) on some drive accessible as folder for the input.
When you do that, PMMail will simply read in all messages stored there
without calling any locally installed SMTP server.
The keyword "SMTP" is somewhat misleading, since that does not refer
to PMMail executing SMTP for receiving mail, but that PMMail assumes
some external SMTP agent depositing the incoming mail in that directory
so that PMMail does only have to pick it up there.
Apparently MS Outlook does not have that feature.
