[pmmail-list] nasty bug in pmmail for OS/2

I found this bug which has caused suffering around here. Suppose I send a toto.doc file as an attachment. If I send it to another OS/2 computer using pmmail, he gets everything ok. But if I send it to a windows machine, using for instance thunderbird or outlook express, that person opens the message and finds the attached file in the message itself rather than as an attachment! Needless to say, this kind of problem can lead to a lot of finger-pointing. 

The solution (?) Now, if I send the file toto, instead of the file toto.doc, everything works properly. The only difference between toto.doc and toto being in the name. 

So at this point, I am going to rip out the .doc extension from all my word files before sending them as mail attachments. ...

Has anyone run across this problem, knowingly or unknowingly?
