[pmmail-list] Warning: PMmail 2000 can corrupt attachments when "detaching"

The problem is not I think with PMMail itself. Attachments with .jpe and.pdf extensions
open fine in my copy of PMMail. (PMMail 2000 2.2 0.2717 - Windows 2000)
When PMMail receives a message with an attachment it looks for an application
registered to the attachment extension and uses that application to open the file. If an
attachment extension is not recognised or absent the file is simply detached and
presented under the file name.
So far as I'm aware PMMail does not generate the message,
"Unamed_Attachment.ATT"
Could the problem lie with the mail client you are testing?

problem is that PM Mail does not, and renames each one as an "Unnamed
>(etc) .ATT. In order to open them, it is necessary to rename each file with a JPG
extension.

It has a lot of things I don't like, but those have workarounds, and I'm
